Shortly after Jesus' baptism, He was led into the Judaean Desert where he fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. This wasn't a modern day fast where only some foods were not permitted. Jesus consumed absolutely no food during this time period. As His body and mind began to weaken, He was tempted on three separate occasions and on each occasion, Jesus used the Word of God to fight through.
 
Satan always tries to attack us when we're at our lowest and weakest points. That's when we're most vulnerable and more likely to succumb to the power of anything we are tempted with. But if we can fight back with the Word of God, we will always pull through. God's Word alone is more powerful than the devil ever could be and is always our best resource in times of trouble.
