The message Gabriel delivered to Mary is one of the most important ones of the Bible. To inform a virgin that she would be giving birth to a son, the Son of God, is a great responsibility and should not be taken lightly. Gabriel created an atmosphere that helped Mary receive this message. His role in the Christmas story is so critical to all the subsequent events leading up to the birth of Jesus.
