Eve is commonly identified as the first woman of the Bible. We also know that she was deceived by Satan which led to her disobedience and the eventual fall of man. Doesn't exactly seem like the ideal role model for women. However, what often is forgotten is her initial purpose: to be a helper for Adam. God saw Adam was alone and decided it was best he had a partner, companion, friend. Eve fulfilled that purpose to the best of her ability, despite her disobedience. Her initial shameful, sinful act could not take away from who God created her to be. Sure, there were consequences that made her job more difficult, but she was still able to move forward with her role on earth.
Have you ever felt you could no longer live out your purpose because of shameful disobedience to God? Felt so guilt-ridden that you felt you couldn't give God His due glory anymore? It may be difficult to continue on but know that the grace of God is covering you and there's no reason you cannot continue to give Him glory in all that you do.
